On May 6, 2026, pork prices increased while duck meat prices continued their downward trend.

1.PIG PRICE

Today, May 6th, live pig prices recorded an increase in the Northern and North Central regions. Live pigs are currently being bought and sold at around 65,500 – 69,000 VND/kg, nearly 1,200 VND/kg higher than last week’s prices. The Southern region continues to maintain the highest prices nationwide.

  • Northern region: Prices increased by 1,000 VND/kg on May 6th, with prices across the region currently fluctuating between 65,500 – 66,500 VND/kg, 2,000 VND/kg higher than the same period last week.
  • Central and Central Highlands regions: prices increased slightly by 500 VND/kg in some provinces of the North Central region, with the current purchase price of live pigs reaching 67,000 – 68,000 VND/kg, nearly 1,000 VND/kg higher than last week.
  • Southern region: live pig prices remained unchanged on May 6th, with traders currently purchasing pigs at around 68,500 – 69,000 VND/kg, a decrease of nearly 150 VND/kg compared to last week.
  • Live pigs of the GF24 generation, raised according to Greenfeed’s standard process, with meat quality receiving many positive reviews from traders, are currently selling at a price 500 – 1,000 VND/kg higher than the average price of other companies.

2.POULTRY PRICE

On May 6th, the price of colored chicken decreased by nearly 1,000 VND/kg in the Northern region but increased slightly by 500 VND/kg in the Southern provinces. In addition, the price of duck meat decreased by 500-1,000 VND/kg in the Northern and Southeastern regions; other regions saw no price fluctuations on May 6th.

  • The price of Ri chicken in the North decreased by 1,000 VND/kg on May 6th in the Southern Red River Delta provinces, bringing the purchase price of Ri chicken in this area to 48,500 – 51,000 VND/kg.
  • The price of Mia chicken in the North also decreased by 1,000 VND/kg on May 6th in most provinces and cities. Accordingly, the average price of Mia chicken in the North is now only 50,500 – 52,500 VND/kg.
  • Minh Du chicken prices continue to show positive developments in the Southern region. Specifically, provinces in the Southern region recorded an increase of 500 VND/kg today, bringing the purchase price on May 6th to 43,000 – 44,500 VND/kg. The Central region maintained prices compared to yesterday, with the average price across the region currently ranging from 41,500 – 42,500 VND/kg.
  • Duck meat prices on May 6th continued their downward trend. Specifically, the Northern region decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently fluctuating around 28,000 – 29,000 VND/kg. The Central region saw no price change today, currently being purchased at around 30,500 – 33,500 VND/kg. In the Southern region, prices decreased by 500-1,000 VND/kg in the provinces of the Southeast, currently ranging from 30,500-32,500 VND/kg, while prices in the Southwest remained stable at around 34,000-35,000 VND/kg.
