Pig prices on September 17 recorded a downward trend nationwide, with a decrease of 500 – 1,000 VND/kg depending on the region. The national pig purchasing price is currently fluctuating between 55,500 – 59,500 VND/kg, averaging 58,500 VND/kg, down 750 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 500 VND/kg lower than the same period last week.

• Northern region: Average live pig price reached 59,000 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 500 VND/kg lower than the same period last week. The transaction price fluctuates between 58,500 – 59,500 VND/kg.
• Central – Central Highlands region: The average price of live pigs reached 58,500 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 250 VND/kg lower than the same period last week. The purchasing price ranges from 57,500 – 59,500 VND/kg.
• Southern region: The Southeast region averaged 57,500 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 500 VND/kg lower than the same period last week. The average price in the Southwest reached 57,500 VND/kg, down 750 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 500 VND/kg lower than the same period last week. Transaction prices in the Southern region currently fluctuate between 55,500 – 58,500 VND/kg.
• The price of GF24 piglets (raised according to GREENFEED standard process) currently reaches 59,500 VND/kg, about 1,100 VND/kg higher than the market price of live pigs, continuing to maintain an advantage thanks to the meat quality highly appreciated by traders.
