1.PIG PRICE

Pork prices on October 16th decreased in most areas nationwide, particularly in the Northern provinces. Nationwide pork purchase prices currently range from 50,000 to 53,000 VND/kg, averaging 52,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 750 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 500 VND/kg lower than the same period last week.

• Northern region: Average pork price reached 52,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday and unchanged compared to the same period last week. Transaction prices fluctuated between 52,000 and 52,500 VND/kg.
• Central and Central Highlands region: Average pork price reached 52,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 500 VND/kg lower than the same period last week. Purchase prices fluctuate between 51,500 and 52,500 VND/kg.
• Southern region: The average price in the Southeast region reached 51,000 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 1,750 VND/kg lower than the same period last week. The average price in the Southwest region reached 52,500 VND/kg, down 250 VND/kg compared to yesterday and 750 VND/kg lower than the same period last week. Transaction prices in the Southern region currently fluctuate between 50,000 and 53,000 VND/kg.
• The price of GF24 piglets (raised according to the GREENFEED standard process) is currently 53,000 VND/kg, down 750 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The price of GF24 piglets is currently about 750 VND/kg higher than the market price of live pigs according to the comparison criteria in the table, continuing to maintain its advantage thanks to the meat quality highly valued by traders.

2.POULTRY PRICE

On October 16th, the poultry market saw a decrease in Ri chicken prices in the North, while Mia chicken prices increased. Minh Du chicken prices decreased in the Central region but increased in the Southeast and Southwest regions. Duck meat prices continued to fall across all regions, especially in the North and Southeast.

• Ri chicken prices in the North decreased by 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently trading in the range of 45,000 – 46,500 VND/kg.
• Mia chicken prices in the North increased by 750 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently fluctuating in the range of 48,500 – 51,500 VND/kg. In the Central region, Mia chicken prices remained around 44,000 VND/kg.
• The average price of Minh Du chicken nationwide reached 40,500 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. In Central Vietnam, prices decreased by 750 VND/kg, currently ranging from 38,000 to 42,000 VND/kg. In the Southeast region, prices increased by 500 VND/kg, reaching 38,000 to 39,500 VND/kg. In the Southwest region, prices also increased by 500 VND/kg, generally ranging from 40,000 to 41,500 VND/kg.
• The average price of duck meat nationwide reached 34,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 750 VND/kg compared to yesterday. In Northern Vietnam, prices decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently ranging from 34,000 to 35,000 VND/kg. In Central Vietnam, prices decreased by 250 VND/kg, fluctuating between 32,000 and 35,000 VND/kg. In the Southeast region, prices decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, generally ranging from 31,500 to 32,000 VND/kg. In the Southwest region, prices have decreased by 500 VND/kg, with traders currently buying at around 33,000 – 35,000 VND/kg.
